Крестовоздвиженский собор (Kreuzkirche)
The Cross Church is with its twin towers a characteristic building in the near Eastern outskirts of Kaliningrad city centre. It was built 1930-1933 and came through World War II with hardly any damage.
Since the building was useable after the war it was turned into a car repair shop and later some production moved in. I 1988 the church was returned to the orthodox community.
Even though the Cross Church is not a major tourist site the area has an atmosphere with contrast between the old church and the surrounding apartment blocks of the Soviet era.
