The historic police headquarters of the city now rooms the regional administration of the federal security bureau FSB/ФСБ. Its predecessor from the Soviet Union was KGB/КГБ which was located in the same offices.

The building belonged from construction 1912-1914 to the Königsberg police force which was founded in 1639. In 1724 the organization got its long term name of Königsberg City Police, Städtische Königliche Polizei.
